Fixed prosthetics

Fixed work is anchored firmly to the teeth or to implants. It is not removed, and it offers comfort closest to that of natural teeth.

Dental crowns

A crown covers a weakened tooth entirely (after root canal treatment, a fracture or advanced wear). It protects the tooth and restores its appearance. We use high-quality materials: zirconia, ceramic or ceramic-fused-to-metal.

Dental bridges

A bridge replaces a missing tooth by resting on the adjacent teeth. It is a fixed, comfortable solution with an excellent aesthetic result. The supporting teeth do, however, have to be prepared.

Implant-supported prosthetics

For patients missing some or all of their teeth, an implant-supported prosthesis offers unmatched stability without altering the neighbouring teeth. It is the closest option to natural dentition.

Removable prosthetics

Removable dentures can be taken out for cleaning. They are indicated when a fixed prosthesis or an implant is not possible.

Partial denture with clasps

replaces a few missing teeth and rests on the remaining ones

Complete denture (full arch)

Overdenture on attachments

stabilised by implants, more comfortable than a conventional denture

Dental prosthetics in Montreux: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a fixed and a removable prosthesis?

A fixed prosthesis (crown, bridge, implant-supported work) is cemented onto the teeth or implants and is not removed. It feels very close to a natural tooth. A removable prosthesis (partial or complete denture) is taken out for cleaning and overnight. The choice between the two depends on the number of missing teeth, the condition of the bone, patient preference and the available budget. Dr Pedro Matos will advise on the option best suited to your situation.

What is a dental crown and when is one needed?

A dental crown is a prosthesis that covers the entire visible part of a damaged or root-treated tooth in order to protect it and restore its shape and appearance. It is indicated after root canal treatment, for a heavily decayed or fractured tooth, or to improve the appearance of the smile. At Cabinet du Casino, crowns are made in ceramic by our partner laboratory for a natural and durable result.

What is a dental bridge?

A bridge is a fixed prosthesis made of several joined crowns, replacing one or more missing teeth. It rests on the teeth adjacent to the gap (the abutments). A bridge is an alternative to an implant when implant treatment is not possible, but it does require the healthy neighbouring teeth to be prepared so they can serve as abutments.

How much does a dental prosthesis cost in Montreux?

Prices vary considerably with the type: a ceramic crown costs between CHF 900 and 1,800, a bridge between CHF 2,500 and 4,500 depending on the number of teeth involved. A partial removable denture is generally between CHF 800 and 2,000. Supplementary dental insurance usually covers 50 to 75% of these costs. A detailed written quote is always provided in advance.

How long does it take to make a dental prosthesis?

Making a dental prosthesis generally takes one to three weeks, depending on the type and the complexity. An impression is taken at the first session and sent to the laboratory. Intermediate try-ins may be arranged to adjust the shape, the shade and the bite. A temporary prosthesis can be worn during this period to preserve appearance and function.
